The Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs and Settlement Services, Laurie Ferguson, joined parents, friends, community members, dignitaries and volunteers at the official launch of the Roxburgh Park Early Learning Centre at Roxburgh Park, Melbourne. The centre meets the needs of about 130 families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in the area. It places multiculturalism at the heart of its education programs. These programs on cultural diversity and customs are provided to children at the centre and help to better prepare them for entry into primary school. The centre also seeks to provide parents with access to information and advice on Australian education and employment opportunities.
